3D-Printed Alternative: Cortex Cast

New Zealander Jake Evill has designed a new type of cast for broken limbs using 3D printing technology.This ‘Cortex Cast’ is a lightweight, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing alternative to the traditional hard, plaster casts we have grown up with. Engineers worldwide are using 3D printing technology to solve longstanding problems, but leaps like this in medicine and 3D printing are arguably world-changing.
